TSP SPONSORS SIXTH ANNUAL LEIGHTON’S RIDE, A CHARITY MOTORCYCLE RIDE ON MAY 19 BENEFITING LEIGHTON’S GIFT

press-release-1

TSP (Technology Service Professionals), a privately held IT services company, announced it will be the signature sponsor of the sixth-annual Leighton’s Ride. The fundraising event will benefit Leighton’s Gift, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2013 with a mission to turn a tragedy into something positive.

The ride will occur on May 19, starting and finishing at Old Celina Park (12670 FM 428, Celina, TX 75009). Altogether, the ride covers approximately 75 to 100 miles. For those who may not own or ride a motorcycle, there will also be an open celebration, featuring live music from Faded Blue, kids playtime from Play Street Museum on wheels, as well as food from Tender Smokehouse BBQ.

“At TSP, we look forward to supporting Leighton’s Ride every year. This charity is one of our most cherished, as it is an important cause to one of our own #TSProckstars, Chris, and his wife Amy,” said Frank Gonzalez, co-founder and CEO, TSP. “Our hope is that we can continue to give back to the community and make a difference in the lives of those we touch.”

The annual ride is the main source of fundraising for Leighton’s Gift, which was co-founded by Chris Skaggs, TSP’s vice president of talent and brand, and his wife Amy Skaggs, after their experience in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with their son Jaxon, and late daughter, Leighton. The foundation’s current project is dedicated to installing webcams into the NICU at various hospitals – enabling parents to connect with their infants at any time from their computer, smart phone, tablet or other web-enabled device.

“My wife and I are elated to have TSP’s ongoing support in raising funds and awareness for Leighton’s Gift and our annual Leighton’s Ride,” said Chris Skaggs. “We would not be able to do what we do without this support.”

To date, Leighton’s Gift has raised over $100,000 and installed 45 webcams into the NICU at Texas Health Plano (THP) and will continue to raise funds to purchase and install webcams into the NICU at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands, the foundation’s next approved hospital.

About Leighton’s Gift
Leighton’s Gift is 501(c)(3) public charity founded in 2013 by Chris and Amy Skaggs with a mission to turn a tragedy into something positive. After the premature birth and subsequent neonatal intensive care (NICU) admission of both Jaxon and Leighton, they were inspired to give back. Jaxon came home from the NICU after 74 long days; however, Leighton earned her angel wings three short weeks after birth due to a late-onset group B strep infection. It was the couple’s desire to create a lasting legacy for Leighton that was the main driving force behind the creation of the foundation. To learn more, visit leightonsgift.com/.
